Pilots Flight Report: Men's Futsal - January 24
The Pilots Futsal teams hosted school rival Canadian Mennonite University this past Friday night, and the games did not disappoint. The Pilots split decisions as the men lost and the women's won, both close matches.
GAME: Providence Pilots vs. Canadian Mennonite Blazers
SCORE: L 6-8
DATE: Friday, January 24
LOCATION: Otterburne, MB
PILOTS KEY CONTRIBUTORS:
Giovanni (2 goals)
FROM THE COACH:
"I thought we struggled in a lot of the key areas of futsal that can cause a lot of frustration. We did poorly on set pieces, and we struggled in build up which gave them a lot of easy counter-attacks.
CMU likes to set up in a low block so if you’re not clean on the ball, they will get a lot of easier chances. Also, CMU is an experienced team with a lot of the same players back from last year so they have some good quality. Besides that though we had lots of positive things despite not having trained a ton, and having only new players to the sport of futsal. We have tons of potential on this team and I’m excited to see how it all plays out." - Joseph Passi
