FROM THE COACH: "It was a special weekend for us, the kind of weekend you hope as a coach will be an eye-opener for the entire roster. Sisseton outplayed us in the first game. We were too slow and tired to even match up with them, and they just played their game for 40 minutes, never giving us a chance even to think it will be possible to tie up the game. Coming to the second game, our Senior and scoring leader, Jordan Lawson, drove through the night to join us as he had to miss the first game. Leading the team in new energy by showing such commitment, he led us into a whole new game. Rather than playing our classic offence, we chose to play 4 out and lined up on the court almost only guards. The team did a great job of executing our game plan, attacking the rim strong and stopping them to score any 3 pts during the first 10 minutes. We went to the break led by 10. Coming back on the court, we kept executing well, but unfortunately, we were unable to finish and score, which led us to trail Sisseton for the rest of the game.
I’m concerned by our struggle to stay consistent throughout the first part of the season, finishing with an NCCAA record of 3-8. I’m hoping that for all of us, taking a Christmas break with our families will help us come back in the right direction, with the right type of mindset and energy. Merry Christmas, all!" Pierre Dubreuil

PLAYER’S VIEW: “I found that the games we played this past weekend were an eye opener to what can happen for the next half of the season. In the first game we played slow, really lacking energy and determination on the court. In the second game, I found that we rallied around each other, bringing a new mindset into the way we played. Even though we lost both games, I feel as if we all learned something about ourselves that we need to do individually to become better as a team." Waedon Dueck
