Following up on the best seasons in Providence history, women’s soccer head coach Tory Walker has added another impact player to the team for Fall 2018-2019. Today the Providence women’s soccer team has added midfielder Kristy Yashuk.
“I am really excited for this fall, this off season has been one of the best recruiting classes I have had as head coach for Providence,” says Walker. “All the new players coming in will help us get to the next level and hopefully push us over the top to be one of the best teams in our two leagues. Kristy comes into this team with tons of experience. She has played at the highest level in Winnipeg playing for premier team Phoenix FC, and has represented her province by playing on the Manitoba provincial team for 4 years. Kristy is going to come in and be a huge impact player for us.”
Yashuk’s resume is very long and her strengths are passing, ball control and great vision on the field. She also has a huge love for the sport as she now coaches ages 3 and 4 year old soccer in Winnipeg. Yashuk enjoys cottage life and is known by her peers to have the best laugh, as voted by her graduating class at Miles Mac. She will be pursuing a degree in Social Science at Providence. “I hear we have a strong team” she says “I am super excited to be a part of it.”
Walker adds: “Kristy will bring a lot of fun and positive energy to our team. We are very excited to have her join the Providence family.”
